Gio’s story – Chapter 1

From my side (Gio), I can’t wait to share how amazing God’s puzzle is. He knows my past, my present and my future. Marriage was the part that I already surrendered to God. I needed God’s help in this area. (Don’t tell anyone that I am bad in this area.) Haha! 

So many people tried to match me with someone, but in 2018, I had two dreams – both alongside each other. That’s why I wrote them down in my journal and I asked a friend to draw them.

1. The first dream, I was walking with my heavenly Father. There was a road. I walked with my heavenly Father and He talked to me while we are walking. “Gio, look at that man. What do you think?” I am smiling and stop walking. In my dream, I see a man standing up in a window, content and smiling.
2. The second dream (during a separate day within the dream), I was walking with my parents along the same road. As we were walking, my dad said, “Hey, look at him, Gio. He is your ‘one.’” Again I am smiling and responding.

My heart in that dream was happy and peaceful. The location in the dream was the same each time. And there was a man who was standing in the window. I couldn’t recognize him yet. I can’t describe him exactly. But he is gentle, smiling and waiting in the window. But I didn’t know him, his face was someone I had never met. In the dream, I tried to know him and recognize him, but I couldn’t get it.

The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.” – Psalms 32:8 NLT

Later, on August 28, 2022…

The House of Mercy team (of which I am a part of) had a meeting. One of my core team members from Mercy Ministry asked me, “Do you already have someone special?”

I said, “Nope! Hahaha!” I couldn’t help but laugh.

She recommended an app to me for Christian dating. I said, “I don’t believe in apps.” But she kept trying to assure me about the app. She taught me how to download and use the app 😆. So I downloaded it and set my profile to the highest criteria that doesn’t make sense. And I left the app on my phone. I didn’t make any friendship with anyone.

Then, on April 15th of 2023…

During my preparation for teaching at youth service, I felt I needed to open the app. I didn’t know why. When I opened it, noticed two “wink” notifications from Andrew. I read his description and see he is looking for a friend, and He described himself very well.

I believe his face shows that he is a smart guy, musician and shining. So I said hello to him, but because I don’t use the app I give him my number and if we can move the conversation to WhatsApp, and he agrees.

The first two weeks of building communication with Andrew, it was already the best friendship that I have ever had with the opposite gender. Haha!
I say to God, “He is the one, oh Lord.” I can’t thank God enough, how blessed I am to meet a man like him. The way he persued our friendship was so gentle, respectful and uplifting to me.

The week after I met Andrew, God spoke to me about the story Martha, Mary and Lazarus. How Jesus loved Martha, and her sister and Lazarus (John 11:5). All things happened for the glory of God so that the Son of God would receive glory from this.

So I am sure that there is a purpose from God that I met Andrew from the very beginning. So I kept responding to him and communicating with him.
